About
The Solo Stack is written by Matt — notes from building real products alone, with AI as co-pilot rather than cosplay. Dev tools, local models, owned infra, and the economics of not hiring.
Every post is supposed to earn its keep: a cold open, real numbers or exact commands when they exist, and a section on what breaks. Strategy essays and tool reviews both carry that bar. If a claim cannot be backed by experience or a measurement, it does not ship.
The site runs on Pyre, a self-hosted publishing platform (Astro + content API). No Ghost ad. No rented CMS runtime in the critical path. RSS is first-class:/rss.xml.
Cadence is roughly daily when the queue is healthy. When it is quiet, that is a stall — not a brand strategy. Follow the feed if you only want the posts.

- The DGX Spark shutdown owners keep hitting is CPU-side— original measurement, 23.9-hour soak on real hardware.
- Replacing Ghost with Pyre— the platform this site runs on, including what broke.
- launchd calendar fires die across reboot— the recovery-net pattern, verified the hard way.
